We decided that we would build an oven together, that we would bake bread together, that we would make it our mission to feed Tyler the best bread the city has ever tasted.

Maybe the Sola story begins in Brazil, the childhood home of head baker Blaine Davis. It’s where he learned that neighbors grow well together when they linger outside padarias, that food feeds hearts and souls, and that magnificently fresh bread is holy. Then the closely knit Sola family, united in Tyler,  asked each other, “Can we do that here too?”

We decided that we would build an oven together, that we would bake bread together, that we would make it our mission to feed Tyler the best bread the city has ever tasted. And in the midst of this togetherness we would forge a space for people to belong, to be fed, and to find family.

So a space was prepared in the Davis family’s literal backyard, where patiently, brick-by-brick, a woodfired oven was built and people began to gather, and gather, and gather, until March 2018, when new bricks were laid at our first brick-and-mortar venue next-door to our friends True Vine Brewing Co.

Now it’s Tyler where the story of delicious community begins for all of our friends, the new ones and the old ones. Stand in line with us, because we’re all neighbors here.
